A few years ago Mort Todd, Cliff Mott and Pat Redding created a RAT FINK comic strip, fully authorized by creator Big Daddy Roth. The strip was never picked up by a syndicate but the creative trio later worked on Molly the Model which was the first daily interactive syndicated comic strip. Pat Redding also edited "Confessions of a Rat Fink," a book about Roth and the Fink which is available for purchase below!
